System Requirements
SOFTWARE
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 , SQL Server 2005 or later, IIS7 or later. The database and the web server can run on the same Windows Server 2008 R2 if desired.
HARDWARE
Machine sizing will depend on expected database (size and number of documents and the amount of demand on the server). A good starting point would be a 2.0Ghz Processor or above, with 2 Gb RAM. (SQL loves RAM so it will impact performance and more is better, get 4 Gb+ if you can).
Disk Space will depend on the number and size of documents. If you have documents of an average size of 1 Megabyte, and you want to store 100 documents in each of 100 folders you would need a minimum of 240 Mb (100 X100 X 1Mb), but allowing for overhead and some expansion, we would double that to 20 Gigabytes. 40 Gigabytes is the recommend minimum for a Server 2008 R2. Recommendation would be to provide a minimum of a 100 Gigabyte drive.
It is possible to run onHAND® on a Windows System 7 server but the lack of server administration tools makes this a distant 2nd choice.
